The Roles

Data206 is looking for top people across the data sciences, including engineers, architects, scientists, and related big data development roles.  We’re looking for both rising stars with a relevant STEM degree and 3+ years of experience, as well as more senior level engineers with 7+ years of experience and graduate degrees.  If you’ve done great, high-impact software engineering with large datasets in fast-paced, data-driven companies, we need people exactly like you.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Above all – a passion for data management and the ability to jump into a new Org and hit the ground running as a freelance contractor.
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing large data pipelines, architectures, and data sets, both structured and unstructured, in mid-size and large organizations.
  • Ability to recommend and/or build analytics tools and processes that uncover actionable insights based on the goals defined by various stakeholder groups.
  • Complete fluency in one or more programming ecosystems including R, Python, SQL, Java, C#/C++, Scala, or others.
  • Experience with large data warehouses, lakes and storage ecosystems such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Azure SA, Teradata, etc.
  • Dedicated to your continuous education and staying on top of the rapid changes in the data science field, particularly the impact of ML and AI on data strategies and management methods.

Great Pay

As a temporary, freelance contractor, you have the freedom to choose when and where you work, and for how much compensation.  Typically, our jobs pay between $75 and $160 per hour.  Most assignments are in the 2-6 month range.  Full-time freelance contractors can earn more than $300k per year.  If you’re a freelancer looking for great pay and total job flexibility, we’re the place for you.
